THE HERB FARM

Steadfast Herbs is a small queer owned herb farm located in Pescadero, CA. We offer fresh herbs and a line of holistic plant medicines to support folks in caring for their physical, mental and emotional health. We use organic practices to grow over 60 varieties of medicinal plants on one acre, a scale that allows us to maintain a close connection with our plants and products.

Steadfast Herbs was started in 2014 by two radical queer herbalists- Lauren Anderson and Finn Oakes- to provide the Bay Area with access to locally grown herbs and herbal medicines. Finn moved on in 2023 to pursue their private herbal practice and return to school for a degree in Social Work. Lauren has continued on with Steadfast as the solo farmer and herbalist.

We are located on unceded Awaswas Ohlone land in the Cloverdale Valley along Little Butano Creek. This land is presently owned by the Penninsula Open Space Trust, and we share the space with our beloved friend Dede at Root Down Farm.

FARMER & HERBALIST

LAUREN ANDERSON (she/they) is a makeshift builder, a cat enthusiast, and a kitchen witch. She studied Community Herbalism with Janet Kent and Dave Meesters of Terra Sylva School and Advanced Clinical Herbal Skills with Ember Peters of Wild Current Herbalism, Stascha Stahl of Bay Herbalist and Vilde Chaya Fenster-Ehrlich of Stonefruit Community Herbalists. Lauren works from a ‘radical vitalist’ perspective (a term coined by Kent/Meesters), utilizing plants to support the body's innate force, while working within a framework that is trauma informed, body positive and based in harm reduction. She is a science nerd and habitual tinkerer who is constantly curious and can often be found talking out loud to the plants in the garden.
